Schools & Tertiary Institutions
iTrain Australia specialises in training those who work with young people to respond appropriately to youth mental health concerns. The Mental Health First Aid framework is a useful reference for teachers, coaches, leaders of youth-related organisations such as church youth groups, scouts, etc. Teen Mental Health First Aid is also available for directly working with young people to give them skills in talking to their friends who may be suffering from a mental health crisis. Research with high school students who receive MHFA report reduced stigma, increased confidence in supporting a peer with a mental health problem and an ability to recognise certain adults as helpful to a peer with a mental health problem. The course can be delivered in 3 x 75 minute sessions.
Business
Organisations that deal with complaints from the public often deal directly with people in crisis. Staff at the coalface often find this challenging professionally and personally. Part of the role of any such organisation is to equip staff to respond appropriately to the client and themselves (self-care). iTrain Australia has a significant role in training staff in regulatory organisations such as the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), the Fair Work Ombudsman and the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman and Privacy Commissioner. Mental Health First Aid and Communicating in a Crisis are two courses available for staff wishing to equip themselves with the skills to manage the complaints of others and their own wellbeing.
Regulatory Organisations
iTrain works closely with organisations who wish to improve the mental health literacy of staff and their ability to respond to workmates, clients and in their private lives. There are a number of courses that will be useful for those working in the corporate environment. Standard Mental Health First Aid (2 days). Blended Mental Health First Aid for the Workplace* (6 hours e-learning and 4 hours face-to-face). SafeTALK suicide awareness courses and custom courses including Communicating in a Crisis (1 day), especially for those working with the public and enables staff to respond appropriately to someone in crisis. Successful Supervision (half day) is a course for those who want to further develop their skills of supportive supervision of staff. iTrain has had a significant role working with community organisations (Catholic Care, MOSAIC, Impact Communities, Laurel House Sexual Assault Service). Courses such as ASIST help staff working with individuals who have thoughts of suicide.

iTrain has significant experience training coaches and administrators in mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Athletes are under significant pressures to perform and frequently have their own mental health struggles. The focus of all courses run by iTrain Australia is the mental health of the participants and those closest to them. The skills learned are not just for professional use but can be well applied in the experience of crisis within their families and wider acquaintance. The emphasis is on providing a safe environment for training in challenging areas such as mental health and suicide. ASIST is a 2-day course directly dealing with suicide intervention equipping participants with a model that has been shown to save lives. Mental Health First Aid courses are useful for anyone wishing to be more adept at dealing with anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or suffering from mental illness.
